EXPO 2023 was all about AI, and Kelly Cherniwchan, the CEO of chata.ai, took time away from making his pitch at FIA’s Innovators Pavilion to speak to John Lothian News about his firm and how AI is transforming the trading world.
Cherniwchan said chata.ai is an embeddable self-service analytics platform, powered by chata.ai’s proprietary natural language processes and technology. What that means is that you can ask any question in simple human language terms and the platform will understand the query and translate it to a database query language to get that information out.
This is not Cherniwchan’s first AI company. He built a previous company that used AI to examine MRI and CT scans. He sold that firm for $213 million, he said.
JLN asked him how a trader would use his platform. He said you simply ask the platform for what you want, for example certain strike prices on a stock or deltas, etc.
The trading industry is new for chata.ai, he said. The retail footwear and apparel industry was where it began and Nike was its first big customer, Cheriwchan said. The firm has also had interest from telecoms and airlines, he said. A collaboration with another firm brought them to the trading world.
JLN also asked Cherniwchan what his pitch was at the Innovators Pavilion. He talked about the use cases, internal data for companies, and external data.
