In a market where stock indexes hit record highs almost every other day, a new report from JPMorgan Chase & Co. finds that do-it-yourself investors are jumping back in. Strategists including Peng Cheng studied recent equity and option transactions from retail investors and concluded these prominent players in the yearlong bull market are once again ratcheting up their wagers.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is tapping into retail demand for trend-following by giving rich investors access to a kind of complex stock strategy that’s usually reserved for institutional managers.
The New York-based bank has issued $15 million of structured notes that give investors a way to surf S&P 500 trading patterns caused by market whales including options dealers and pension funds.

Trends in capital flows, the depreciation of the yuan against the dollar, and the underperformance of Chinese equities paint a picture of caution ahead for the Chinese financial market, according to investment bank JPMorgan.
After a prolonged period of inflows into Chinese bonds and equities, there have been recent signs of a slowdown, said analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou on Wednesday. This prompts questions about whether Chinese stocks are on track for a crash like the ones seen in 2015 and 2018.

OCC Elects Executive Chairman, Member and Public Directors at 2021 Stockholder Meeting
OCC, the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced the election of three Class II Member Directors and two Class III Public Directors to its Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Craig S. Donohue was re-elected as Executive Chairman of the Board. The vote took place during OCC’s annual stockholder meeting on April 14.

CEOs at more than 300 of the top public companies in the US received median pay of $13.7 million in 2020, up 15% from $12.8 million the year before, according to an analysis by the Wall Street Journal.
Executive pay rose thanks to a revived stock market and changes to compensation structures. Less than 10% of total pay was accounted for by salary for most CEOs, the Journal found. CEOs instead added to their pay from increases in the value of their shareholdings and performance-linked stock awards.
