Futures industry walks to work to support Futures for Kids charity
Industry executives from Washington and Chicago also join their London counterparts
Today is the Futures for Kids (FFK) 6th Annual “Walk to Work” , which will see some 70 futures industry executives trek around London before heading to the Finish Line at the Anchor Bankside pub on the South Bank. Many will be travelling the full distance of over 35 miles starting at 8 AM in the morning while others will be taking an afternoon stroll from one of four starting points at Greenwich Park, Clapham Common, Regent’s Park or Victoria Park.
This year, walkers in London will be joined by futures industry executives in both Washington and Chicago who will be making a similar effort.
Launched in 2008 to provide a focus for the futures and options industry to channel funds to children’s charities around the world , FFK has now raised almost £2.5 million.
“The Walk to Work provides an opportunity for people from all parts of our industry to raise funds for the marvellous charities we support,” says FFK trustee, David Setters. “It also gives our supporters a chance to meet with staff from the different charities who supply the support teams at each checkpoint. The event itself has raised over £250,000 since its launch, making an enormous difference for the lives of children across the globe.”
Participants from many City companies and technology firms are taking part, including Cinnober, Deutsche Bank, FIA, FIS, G.H. Financials, Kite Consulting, NEX Group , TP ICAP and TradingTechnologies. NEX Group are the Lead Sponsors of the event while GHF, TT and Cinnober are associate sponsors.
