First Audition: a TV Script, “The Front Runner,” from Daniel F. Sullivan and John Nuckel
John Lothian News announces the launch of “Auditions,” a new space on johnlothiannews.com and the John Lothian Newsletter for entertainment content creators to introduce to the JLN audience their market related TV scripts, movie scripts, documentaries, short stories, books and poems. Visit the Auditions page.
Mogator Media Capital (Mogator Media Capital), along with writers Daniel F. Sullivan (Pencils with Erasers Podcast) and John Nuckel (JohnNuckel.com), are presenting the first audition, a script for a feature film titled “The Front Runner.” Based on a true story from the Chicago Board of Trade, the film chronicles a man’s attempt in 1992 to corner the 30-year U.S. Treasury bond futures market, albeit for a brief 15 minutes.
JLN will present the script three pages at a time here and on JohnLothianNews.com under the new Auditions topic page for your reading pleasure. The script will include the actual “stage directions” and “parentheticals.” Stage directions provide context for the actions, movements, and emotions of the characters, while parentheticals are used within dialogue to indicate how a line should be delivered. These directions help convey the tone, pacing, and physical activity of the scene to the actors and crew. You will read the real script just as an actor would who is auditioning for a part in the series.
We will publish three pages of “The Front Runner” three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and publish a total of 36 pages of the script.
Both Sullivan and Nuckel are longtime financial markets industry professionals and exchange members who became writers. Sullivan has written a movie titled “The Opening Bell” and a TV series titled “The Floor.” The plot of “The Opening Bell,” a movie in pre-development, follows Micki Farrell, a trailblazer as one of the first women of color to trade on the Chicago Board Options Exchange, who emerges as a prominent figure in the flourishing Farrell family financial trading dynasty.
“The Floor,” a forthcoming financial drama series penned by Daniel F. Sullivan, focuses on the trading floors vanquished by electronic trading, and aims to mirror the narrative depth and audience engagement of “Yellowstone.” Set within the high-stakes world of the financial markets, the series will explore themes of power, ambition, and personal conflict, exploring the human stories behind pivotal financial decisions. By aligning its narrative with contemporary economic and cultural discussions, “The Floor” seeks to offer a fresh perspective on familiar themes, appealing to both fans of financial dramas and new audiences seeking thought-provoking content.
John Nuckel’s literary works include two notable series: The Rector Street Series and The Volunteer Series. The Rector Street Series explores the financial sector, offering a gritty portrayal of Wall Street’s underbelly. It follows characters like Frank McGinley, an equity options specialist on the American Stock Exchange with a penchant for vodka, as they navigate the complexities of financial crimes and corruption. The series provides an insider’s perspective on the moral ambiguities and high-stakes environment of the financial industry. In contrast, The Volunteer Series explores historical narratives, focusing on a secret society formed in the late 1800s by elite figures aiming to address injustices beyond the reach of conventional law. This series intertwines real historical events and personalities, offering a blend of fiction and history that sheds light on societal issues of the past.
They hope that sharing their content will help them connect with other creators for potential collaborations, both creatively and financially. They aim to expand their network to include individuals interested in supporting market-related storytelling, including potential backers for “The Front Runner” or other Mogator projects.
