Happy last days of summer! I hope you have all had a great one so far. I am reaching out to you again this year as we are approaching October and that means that the annual fundraiser for. Thank you for all your support in the past few years in helping ALTSO make a difference in so many children’s lives around the world.
A Leg To Stand On is a non-profit that provides free prosthetic limbs and corrective surgery to children in developing countries who have lost their limbs in traumatic accidents or suffer from congenital limb disabilities. In just a few weeks, we will have treated over 12,000 children (see: http://www.altso.org/impact/) since 2003, giving our patients the physical capabilities to access the life-changing opportunities mobility offers – including the ability not only to walk, but to access education, employment, and the hopes of living self-sufficiently.
Our annual fundraising benefit, Rocktoberfest-Chicago (http://www.altso.org/hfr/), is moving into its 3rd year after having originated 11 years ago in New York. Rocktoberfest unites leaders from the finance industry for a night of rock&roll music performed by industry professionals. Moving into its 3rd year, our Rocktoberfest-Chicago, on October 8th at City Winery, will host over 500 attendees; now in its 11th year, our New York event, on October 22 at Capitale, will host over 1,400 guests.
Bands performing in Chicago this year will include Jim McNulty, Steve Staszak of the Wrong Boys, John Labezewski of the Stone Daddies, John Maher and yours truly in Rock Island Line. New York bands this year include New York Rock Exchange (Formerly Flash Crash) featuring Bob Gartland, Howard Fulton, Larry Scheinberg, Joey Albert and Bill Delaney. If you specify which band you are supporting when making your donation it gives us a chance at the best slots of the night to perform.
The attached press kit includes event demographics, previous sponsors (current sponsors of the Chicago and/or NY events include ICE, CME Group, Russell Indexes, Newedge, BNP Paribas, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Lyxor Asset Management, McGladrey, amongst others), and sponsorship opportunities, of which we would like to highlight the following (contingent on level):
